My Kids Are Adults. Apparently I’m Supposed to Stop Giving Advice.
My kids are adults now. Apparently, somewhere along the way, I lost my parental management authority. Nobody sent me the memo. Now I’m discovering that having adult children requires a completely different skill set: knowing when to give advice, when to help, when to just listen…and occasionally when to mind my own business. For those of us who came of age as “helicopter parents,” that can be quite a career change!
